2024 General Election: We must approach with unity, peace and love for Ghana – Bagbin
Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has urged Ghanaians to be peaceful during and after the general elections.
In addition to being peaceful, he urged Ghanaians to also approach the elections with love and unity.
Ghanaians go to the polls on December 7 to elect a new President and Members of Parliament.
In a short statement ahead of the polls, Speaker Bagbin said “As we enter December, a month of hope and anticipation I urge all citizens to approach the upcoming elections with unity, peace and love for our nation. Together, let us build a brighter future for Ghana.”
As part of the electoral process for the 2024 general elections, the Special Voting exercise took place on Monday, December 2 across 14 regions of Ghana.
The Eastern and Western Regions were however excluded from the Monday, December 2 exercise.
Explaining the reason for the exclusion of the Eastern and Western Regions, Chairperson of the Commission, Jean Mensa at a press briefing on Sunday, December 1, 2024, announced that the decision was taken after a single defaced ballot paper meant for the Presidential election for the Eastern Region was leaked out of the printing house.
