A heartbreaking incident occurred at Twifo Ahyire in the Twifo Atimorkwa District of the Central Region, where an 8-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his 12-year-old brother, Mawuko.

The father, Samuel Hegbige a.k.a Sakora, a farmer and hunter, had left his gun in the room after returning from the farm.

Tragically, the young boy picked up the gun while playing with his brother, pointed it at Mawuko, and pulled the trigger, killing him instantly while he was eating.

A team of police officers, led by Twifo Praso District Police Commander, Superintendent Charles Addai Boateng, swiftly responded to the scene and arrested Samuel Hegbige as part of the investigation. The 8-year-old boy was initially taken into custody but was later released and handed over to the family.

The police have urged the public to remain calm, assuring that they are committed to ensuring justice is served.
