A/R: Electoral Commission day 1of limited voter registration exercise

The Electoral Commission began the process of limited registration for first-time voters and persons who wish to own a voter card yesterday, Tuesday, May 7.
The 21-day exercise will end on May 27, 2024.
Speaking to some political parties representatives, they have urged the commission to be fair and transparent.

Mustapha Alhasah, Manhyia South constituency Organiser for NDC Saliki Issah, Manyia South NDC communications officer says they don’t trust the Electoral Commission that’s why they came early to monitor the process. They added that, Electoral Commission since NPP came to power has always in bed with NPP that’s why it’s make it difficult to trust them.

They have also accused E.C for not preparing well before commencing the registration that is why the network is not working now

Kennedy Mintah NPP deputy youth organiser for Manyia North constituency and subin NPP women’s organzer Ama Konadu Boateng on the other hand said, Electoral Commission has been fair and transparent and doesn’t see why NDC always has negative thoughts about E.C. They have urged every Ghanaian especially first-time voters to come and register so that they can vote for NPP to continue their good policies.

He Calls for more days because the system is not working

Meanwhile Hon. Simon Osei Mensah assured peace in the Ahanti Region during the voter registration process.
