Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo gains new Premier League milestone after Southampton win
Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo celebrated his half-a-century appearances in the English Premier League with a goal as AFC Bournemouth defeated Southampton on Monday night at Vitality Park.
The Black Stars forward, who joined the Cherries in January 2023, made his 50th appearance in the Premier League against the Saints, producing a Man of the Match performance in the 3-1 victory.
In his first season in the English topflight, the 24-year-old made 11 appearances, scoring a goal for Bournemouth.
However, he became a mainstay in the team following the arrival of Andoni Iraola, making 33 appearances and scoring 8 goals for the club. He was only behind Dominic Solanke, now with Tottenham, as the club’s leading scorers.
Meanwhile, in the new campaign, Semenyo has made six appearances and scored three times as the Cherries maintain their decent start to the season.
The striker has been a key figure at Vitality Park and will be heavily relied on for the goals despite the arrival of Evanilson from Porto.
