Corruption fight: ‘Should I feel frustrated and resign?’ – Special Prosecutor

This was one of his rarest moments since officially taking up the task of fighting corruption and corruption-related offenses.
Usually energetic Kissi Agyebeng, K is never one to sound frustrated during public engagements, as his stance since becoming prosecutor has projected a man ready for action.

However, the Special Prosecutor’s demeanor at the just-ended press conference organized under his auspices suggests that all he is holding onto right now is his patriotism and sole commitment to uproot corruption to the best of his ability.
He had assembled a team of journalists to express his challenges emanating from the judiciary, which impeded his bid to successfully prosecute cases.

“As I said, I wasn’t sounding like a prophet of doom, but there is doom looming ahead of us, and very soon a murderer will boldly walk to seek an injunction. Should I feel frustrated and resign? I took an oath, and in my life, when I take on the reins to do something, I do it to the best of my ability,’ he said on Wednesday.

Mr. Kissi Agyabeng, who appeared visibly unhappy and painedly concerned, told journalists that the developing trend of some judges skewing cases against the OSP has the potential to hamper the fight against corruption.
