DON’T BRING BACK DATA ZONE BUNDLE MTN, WE ARE AT PEACE – AFIA SCHWARZENEGGER
The whole country sparked days after MTN suspended their discounted data zone bundle. Most of the Ghanaian content creators have joined the campaign, asking for answers to the cause of the suspension.
On April 12, 2023, Scancom PLC [MTN GHANA], officially announced the cancellation of the data zone bundle in line with Significant Market Power [SMP] directives applied to MTN GHANA in June 2020, not to be the lowest priced on any offer in the communication industry.
However, customers dialed *135# to access the discounted bundle which expired within 24 hours.
MTN indicated that they are in collaboration with the regulator, to seek alignment on revised data zone bundle to reinstate it as soon as possible.
“We are currently engaging and collaborating with the regulator, as we seek alignment on a revised data zone bundle to be reinstated as soon as possible.” “We will notify you in due course of further developments.”
The suspension took effect on April 5, 2023 after which the statement was released on April 12, 2023.
However, ace comedian Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, popularly known in showbiz as Afia Schwarzenegger, has commended MTN GHANA for the suspension of the discounted zone bundle.
Schwarzenegger indicated that social media is now calm especially Tiktok because there’s no nonsense happening these days on the app after the cancellation of the data zone bundle.
Whilst commending the company, she advised that MTN should not reinstate the zone bundle because the youth were misusing the offer.
“Good afternoon and thanks to MTN, the most powerful network in Ghana for the cancellation of the data zone bundle, so you were financing all the problems on tiktok?”.
“God bless the company for the suspension, because the youth were misusing it, do not reinstate it”
Meanwhile, MTN GHANA assures it’s customers, it would continue to roll out innovative and affordable products and services for the benefit of its cherished Clients.
