E/R: AKYEM ODA FORESTRY COMMISSION OFFICE VANDALIZED BY ODA TIMBER MARKET TRADERS
Traders of Akyem Oda timber market in the Birim Central municipality of Eastern Region are very angry due to the their allegation that one of their members a popular timber merchant or trader by name Kwame Asante commonly known as “Ashabee” has been knocked down to death by the Akyem Oda forestry Commission workers, this was initially reported as false news but latest reports have confirmed that, the incident took place.
The Akyem Oda timber traders upon hearing the sad news thought the Oda forestry commission personnel caused his death and therefore mobilized themselves to take revenge, because according to them, this is not the first time such a terrible incident is happening to a member of theirs.
The Akyem Oda forestry commission manageress; Madam Cynthia Okaine debunked the false allegations that their car hit the deceased motor but rather the deceased own truck killed him, she added that, they had to ran for their lives from the office when they heard the people marching to their office to cause mayhem, which they did.
