Ghanaian Foodie Afua Nash’s claim to have gotten approval to embark on Eatathon Fake.
Guinness World Records (GWR) has clarified that it no longer recognizes records for extended eating marathons, debunking claims made by Ghanaian content creator Clementina Nkrumah, popularly known as Afua Nash.
Afua Nash had announced plans for a four-day, seven-hour, and 20-minute non-stop eating marathon, which was set to begin on Monday, November 11, 2024, live on the Savage Room show at Afropod Studios on her instagram page.
However, GWR took to its official Twitter account to clarify that it no longer tracks such feats. The organization explained that, while it once recognized records based on duration, it has since updated its guidelines. Now, consumption records focus on the rate of consumption rather than the length of the event, with attempts typically limited to three minutes depending on the type of food.
