Ghanaian Nurses and Midwives halt Protest

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) halts its protest over an increase in license verification charges following a meeting of the health ministry,
GRNMA launched a series of protests demanding a revision of the escalated charges on license verification from Ghc550 to Ghc3,000.

Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, President of GRNMA asserted that the fee increase, amounting to a staggering 445.5%, is unjustifiable and burdensome for its members.
The planned demonstrations, scheduled from March 22nd to April 3rd, 2024, commenced with the symbolic act of wearing red bands across all healthcare facilities and workspaces where nurses and midwives operate.

Mrs. Perpetual speaking after the meeting said, though she can not mention any new fees now, the good news from the meeting is that the two parties have reached an agreement to reduce the verification fees
