Government Deploys ‘TraffiTech-GH’ to Strengthen Road Safety Enforcement
Automated cameras and sensors introduced by the National Road Safety Authority and Ghana Police Service to reduce road accidents.

The government, through the Ghana Police Service, in partnership with the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) and the Ministry of Transport, has created a digital traffic enforcement system called “TraffiTech-GH” to boost road safety and ensure better compliance with traffic laws.
This system employs advanced cameras and sensors to automatically record audiovisual evidence of traffic violations such as speeding and red-light running.
The initiative was showcased during a visit by Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe to the NRSA and TraffiTech-GH facilities, aiming to evaluate the automated enforcement system and see how it can support the government’s goal of reducing road accidents.
His visit was part of broader efforts to use technology for stronger law enforcement and safer roads across the country. Mr. Nikpe was accompanied by Deputy Dorcas Affo-Toffey, Chief Director William Kartey, NRSA Director-General Abraham Amaliba Esq., and other senior officials from both agencies.
