GTV Sports+ obtain TV rights to telecast Ghana Premier League
GTV Sports+ has been announced as the new broadcast Ghana Premier League, taking over the next five seasons according to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.
This change follows the Ghana Football Association’s ( GFA) decision not renew the contract with Star Times, the previous broadcaster for the League.
Star Times, a Chinese pay-TV network had held the broadcast right for the Premier League in the FA Cup since 2020. However, their contract has ended with the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
Under the new arrangement, GTV Sports + will broadcast the Ghana Premier League for the next five years, having secured a $ 2 million arrangement with the GFA.
This deal makes GTV Sports + the exclusive right holder for both the Premier League and the FA CUP.

Meanwhile the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season is set to begin on September 6.
