I invited ECG manager for a reason; not because they are part of REGSEC-Hon. Osei Mensah
The Ashanti regional minister Hon Simon Osei Mensah has asserted that, he invited the Ashanti regional manager of Electricity Company of Ghana, Engineer Mark Assuming Wiafe to the police to response to his attitude towards the agreement he signed on behalf of ECG and the management of Kumasi Technical University.
According to him, the management of electricity company of Ghana led by Engineer Mark Assuming Wiafe have signed agreement with the Board and management of Kumasi Technical University on how to pay their outstanding electricity bill owned them on installment but he diabolically hide behind the management of the organization to disconnected power connected to the school.
He said the same management led by Eng. Mark Assuming Wiafe proceeded to disconnected hotel facility belongs to Kumasi Technical University while they were using prepaid meters.
He maintained that, the management led by Engineer Mark Assuming Wiafe however refused to response to him on their recent utterances concerns continue power outages in the region which he consider as security threat to the nation so he invited him to the police to write his statement for future reference.
In responding to claims by the staff of ECG that, they will allow Engineer Mark Assuming Wiafe to attend regional security Council meetings as member, Hon Simon Osei Mensah retaliated that, the management of electricity company of Ghana are not part of regional security Council but the regional security Council has every right to invite them to their meetings to response to issues.
However, Ashanti Regional minister In his response to not able to paid electricity bills at his private residence, the minister said that, he is not ready to pay any cooked electricity bills billed him until the management of ECG do proper calculations of amounts of money reflected to units consumption since the management have posted two different bills with two different amount of money.
