Introducing TGMA’s ‘Female Artiste of the Year’ category will make a significant impact on us – Eno Barony.
Ghanaian rapper, Eno Barony has called for the introduction of a ‘Female Artiste of the Year’ category at the Ghana Music Awards.
During an interview on Property FM, she expressed her conviction that this category would be a game-changer for women in the music industry.
Eno Barony believes that identifying female potential in a field that is dominated by men will not only give it a much-needed boost, but also foster a more welcoming and equal environment.
She pleaded with the award organizers to take her suggestion under consideration, highlighting how it may improve the status of female musicians and enhance Ghana’s music landscape.
She said: “Because that will augment our work and the craft of the females will feel appreciated and I know it’ll come. A lot of females keep coming into the music scene and that category will surely come just that we need the push from the media. There should be support for the females especially those in the rap game because the louder they become the more the category will be created for them”.
