IT IS A CALL IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR CAPITAL PUNISHMENT TO BE ABOLISHED – Lawyer Frank Gorman

In seeking professional opinion in the matter of abolishing death sentence from Ghana’s laws, Lucky TV’s #Adekyemusem host Ishmael Mubarak, called Lawyer Gorman to educate and explain further what it means for the death penalty to be abolished.

Lawyer Gorman, who is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, first said he supports and believes it is the right decision.

He cited a practical example of an instance where a murder is committed and for the murderer to abscond and in some cases due to the fact that issues of law only deal with facts, in certain instances the person that comes to meet the lifeless body is sometimes charged with murder and sentenced to death, which is not the truth, but based on the evidence available at the time, the wrong prosecution is initiated.

For this he believes that as a progressive nation it is high time we look at the capital punishment law, as such this has come at the right time.
