John Mahama to declare Culture, Arts and Tourism as golden age if voted into power, Rex Omar elaborates
Veteran highlife musician, Rex Owusu Marfo, popularly know as Rex Omar has thrown more light on a recent promise that was made by former President John Dramani Mahama, in an interview on Lucky TV’s Adekye Mu Nsem, he said
“It comes to me as fresh breath and it brings me so much joy hearing the promise made by the former president, who is the current NDC flagbearer, H.E. John Mahama. He has promised to declare tourism, arts and culture the golden age surfing his tenure”
He added that when you visit other art communities, the creative art sector is often well-resourced. Unfortunately, this is not the case in Ghana. Enhancing our art world can significantly benefit content creators, computer designers, editors, and the entire entertainment industry. It also has the potential to help job creators to generate content for themselves.
Mahama promises to pave way for the Black Star Experience, a vision dating back to Kwame Nkrumah’s era. This initiative aims to involve private sectors or investors alongside public investors to properly run and build the industry. However, the people involved must work with the right mindset.
When asked about the Royalties system in Ghana by host Ama Papabi, he said the Ghana Music Royalties Association is still a work in progress. It is troubling that most media clubs do not pay their dues, which is unacceptable.
