KASOA TO BE RENAMED SOON TO AWUTU KASOA- OFAAKOR CHIEF
The chiefs and people of Awutu Traditional Area on Friday launched the 2024 Awutu Awubia festival to start preparation towards the main festival which falls in August and September.
A weeklong tradition, customary rites and social activities marking this year’s Awubia Fesival, on the theme: “Empowering the Youth for Development through Festival to build Awutu State.”
Speaking during the launching Nai Amoashie Tetteh Ofaakor Odikuro urged the youth and the natives of awutu to lift the flag of Awutu to the whole wide word.
He added that preparation is underway by the Awutu traditional state to rename Kasoa to Awutu Kasoa since the land belongs to them.
Nai again gave a background history on why Awutu Awubia festival is celebrated.
The festival commences on August 23 and run through to September 7, 2023, with various activities including general clean-up exercise, football gala, home coming summit, sprinkling of mpopo through the principal streets of Awutu.
Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson urged the youth to emulate the relevant cultural aspect in the festival and help maintain peace in the entire Awutu land
