Kwesi Arthur Supports Black Sherif for TGMA Artiste of the Year

Kwesi Arthur says Black Sherif deserves top honour after standout year

Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur has thrown his support behind Black Sherif to win the coveted Artiste of the Year award at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

According to him, Black Sherif’s performance during the year under review has been unmatched, making him the strongest contender for the top prize.

Speaking during a Twitch session on Made in Ghana, Kwesi Arthur praised Black Sherif’s consistency and influence on the music scene.

“Looking at the year under review, I think Black Sherif should win Artiste of the Year. If he doesn’t win, we will riot,” he said jokingly, sparking reactions across social media.

He also acknowledged the efforts of fellow rapper Medikal, noting that he has also had a strong and consistent year.

Kwesi Arthur’s comments have been widely interpreted by fans as a sign of unity, amid past rumours of tension between him and Black Sherif.

The Artiste of the Year category at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards features a competitive lineup, including Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie, and Diana Hamilton.

The category recognises artistes with outstanding chart performance, hit songs, and overall impact within the eligibility period.

With Black Sherif dominating platforms such as Boomplay, Spotify, and Billboard, and the success of his album ‘Iron Boy’ , Kwesi Arthur believes the title rightfully belongs to him.
