Lay Down Your Guns For Better Development — Assin Atandansu Paramount Chief Tell Fighting Chiefs.
The Paramount Chief of Assin Atandansu Traditional Area in the Central Region, Odeefuo Tsibu Darko Ampem II, has called for unity among traditional rulers in the area to promote development.
He indicated that there could not be any meaningful development amid chieftaincy disputes and conflicts in a community and, therefore, admonished all the chiefs and their subjects in the area to lay down their weapons and resolve their differences to ensure accelerated development.
According to him, the Atandansu Traditional Area had suffered some setbacks following the protracted conflicts that had engulfed the area over the years, that it is time to forge ahead in unity to restore the lost values and dignity of Assin Atandansu to its old glory.
Odeefuo Tsibu Darko made this clarion call at a colorful durbar to climax the weeklong celebration of his first anniversary as a Paramount Chief and President of Assin Atandansu Traditional Council.
The event was celebrated under the theme; “Unity In Development” and was graced by dignitaries such as the Chief of Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, Major General Prince Osei Owusu, 2iC of the Central North Regional Police Command, ACP Acquaye, Deputy Minister of Education Re. John Ntim Fordjour, the Paramount Chief of Nkusukum Traditional Council, Okogyeaman Okese Essandoh IX, Trinidad and Tobago Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency, Mr. Hilton John Mitchell among others.
Meanwhile, Okogyeaman Okese Essandoh who chaired the event on behalf of the President of Central Regional House of Chiefs, Odeefuo Amoakwa Boadu VIII, underscored the need for peace as the country prepares for the 2024 general election saying it must be upheld and guarded.
The Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. John Ntim Forjour urged Ghanaians to refrain from excessive partisan politics as it creates enmity and derails development.
