LUCKY TV CELEBRATES “EXCEPTIONAL MOTHERS” ON MOTHER’S DAY
Ghanaians yesterday, Sunday, May 14, 2023 joined most of the world to celebrate Mothers’ Day in recognition and appreciation of the remarkable contributions mothers and motherly figures have made in society.
They are appreciated to make them feel valued, important, special, cherished and loved.
In line with this, Lucky Television yesterday recognized the effort and selfless sacrifice of some deserving special mothers with its maiden edition of “Special Mother’s Day Awards”, the first of its kind, which has received so much applause across the country.
The remarkable event was marked with colorful traditional outfits. Some awardees and participants could not hold their emotions as tears of joy engulfed the event.
In all, eleven (11) awardees received various gifts from our sponsors which included assorted drinks, clothes and citations.
The awardees included Madam Mercy Yeboah, the wife of Prof. Dr. Stephen Noble Yeboah, CEO of Lucky Group of Companies for her selfless service and support to the successful story of Lucky TV, lengendary Akosua Agyapong, award winning female highlife singer and television personality,
Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson, Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency who doubles as Minister for Special Development Initiatives and Hon. Anita Love Obo Amissah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Awutu Senya East for their various contributions to the development of the municipality and constituency.
Madam Grace Ohenewaah, a physically challenged single mother of three, Naatse Densua, Queen Mother of the Kasoa market for her endless role in nurturing an average sized market into one of the largest and most vibrant in Ghana, Madam Mary Amoah Kuffuor, a mother of special child with autism and founder of Klicks Africa Foundation, Madam Mary Torku, a mother with leprosy.
Others are Madam Georgina Aba Koomson, a physically challenged mother with a physically challenged child, Rev. Gifty Duodu, a mother who adopted three (3) children, Francis Larweh, an outstanding single father of three (3) playing a mother’s role and Madam Mary Mintah, Human Resource Director of the Food and Drugs Authority, who takes care of about 15 adopted children.
