National Labour Commission grants CLOGSAG and government 1 week to resolve grievances

The National Labour Commission has granted additional one week for the Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) and government to resolve their grievances.

According to the Commission, this decision was reached after government representatives appeared before it to request an extension to engage the leadership of CLOGSAG.
The leadership of CLOGSAG was not present at the premises of the National Labour Commission.

The government side, led by a representative from the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations appeared before the Commission.
The Lawyer for ministry of employment and labour relations Daniel Aseidu asked the Commission for an extension of time for government to continue engaging with CLOGSAG.
“We are engaging them, and they will come next week”.

The Director of Human Resource at the Labour Commission, Dr Bernice Welbeck said, the Commission agreed to grant the extension based on the commitment by government to resolve the grievances.
“Government, the respondent, actually came and prayed for extension of time so the case is adjourned to next week on 17th for reporting”.

She emphasized that, the Commission will wait for the parties to report back after the engagement.
