Nomination Forms Undergo Stringent Review by EC

Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, has assured presidential candidates who will be contesting in the 2024 general elections that the filing process would be accountable and unbiased, noting that the EC will be just and steadfast in carrying out its duties.

She gave the assurance when the Flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, filed his nomination forms at the Electoral Commission on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Jean Mensa said the filing process, which will last for five days, will be clear, equitable and serene and will afford all the presidential candidates enough time to rectify mistakes detected in their forms.

” Additionally, we are confident  that the five day period provided for filing process as opposed to the 2-day process in 2020 will allow enough time for the presidential candidates to correct errors identified in the forms.
She stated, ” We are confident that will eliminate the tension that characterised the 2020  election filing process prior 2020 elections,”
