Pray to God to help me choose a better running mate – Mahama urges Ghanaians
Former president John Dramani Mahama has asked those urging him to select his running mate from their regions to keep praying for the Lord to touch the hearts of the party leaders responsible for that role.
He says many of the regions he has visited have asked that he consider them. Speaking with the chiefs and people of Sehwi Wiawso, the capital of the Western North region, as part of his ‘Building Ghana Tour’ on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, the former president said he is considering choosing his running mate in February 2024.
However, since he is not solely in charge of the selection, those urging him to choose someone from their region should pray that God directs the party leadership to choose someone who can best support him for victory in the elections.
“It appears every region has a candidate, so I’ll say we should pray, as I said in Bono, that the selection of a candidate is not done solely by me. It’s done together with the Council of Elders and the functional executives.
We will carefully examine the list of those who qualify, and we will all look through and select one and we are hoping to do that by February, 2024.
