Protesters Converge on BOST, Demand Resignation and Prosecution Over GH¢285k iPhone Scandal

Civil Society Group Calls for Accountability Amidst Corporate Expenditure Controversy

Members of the New Ghana Social Justice Forum, a civil society group, thronged the premises of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) in Accra on Thursday to demand the resignation and prosecution of top officials of the company.

This follows the purchase of 18 iPhones for BOST’s corporate executives for an amount of GH¢285,412.16 and several financial losses captured in the 2022 Auditor General’s Report.

Addressing the media at the protest, Yahaya Alhassan, President of the Ghana Social Justice Forum, called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to dissolve the Board of Directors of BOST immediately to protect the public purse.
