The Salvation Army Hospital is the biggest health facility within the Agona East District in the Central Region of Ghana, serving over eighty thousand (80,000) population. Following the many challenges that the hospital faces to ensure quality healthcare service, a team of donors led by Melanie who is currently in Ghana as a health volunteer presented these items to aid productivity at the hospital.

Items include; 2 Fetal Doppler, 1 Baby Cot, 1 BP Monitor, 2 Drip stand, 1 Examination Lamp, 1 Flow Meter, 1 Weighting scale, Toys, 1 BP and SPO2 Monitor.

Speaking to us, Melanie detailed that, she has been a volunteer at The Salvation Army Hospital in Agona Duakwa for nearly two months. Through her personal experience and conversations with her health colleagues, she noticed the lack of some supplies, although she initially joined as a volunteer to contribute her labor, she soon realized that the hospital also needed resources. Speaking with her family back in Germany, they offered to make a donation for supplies, and later, chose to launch a fundraising campaign on her own to increase their budget and purchase the essentials for the hospital.

The items were received by management of the hospital headed by Major Richmond Obeng Appau and thanked Melanie, her family and fundraiser in Germany for these amazing items which are very beneficial to the hospital.

In conclusion, Major Richmond Obeng Appau added that, the hospital is going to make good use of the items.
