REFEREE GETS HIT ON THE HEAD IN A DIVISION 1 LEAGUE MATCH BETWEEN KENPONG FC AND NEW EDUBIASE UNITED

It ended muddy and bloody in a Division 1 Zone One B league fixture between Kenpong Footabll Academy and New Edubiasse United at the Agona Swedru Sports stadium on Sunday 16th April, 2023, according to picture and video evidence.
Hooliganism in Ghana’s football seems to never come to an end and as we have said time and time again, this destroys the beauty of the game and thereby drives away investors, and yet it continues.
In the division 1 game between Kenpong Football Academy and New Edubiase United which was described as a cracker prior to the game by sports enthusiasts due to the quality of both teams, ended in a very disappointing fashion due to how violent it became.
In further checks, Head of Sports at Lucky TV, Mr. Alex Ofosu Aggrey popularly known as Boshyeba The Supremo, quizzed both camps to ascertain what exactly transpired on the day.
First he spoke to the PRO of New Edubiase United, Stargo who said “in the second half of the game, the scores stood at 3-2 in favour of Kenpong Academy, we were awarded a penalty in the 79th minute. The next thing we saw was former referee and management member of Kenpong Football Academy, Mr. Obed Danquah rushing to the pitch and hitting the referee in the head leading to his collapse.”

Moving forward, Boshyeba spoke to Mr. Obed Dankwah who started off by asking the host “Who did you speak to from New Edubiase United? Upon hearing that it was Startgo, he became agitated and proceeded to allege that the referee, Mr. Robert Gizah, is noted for favouring New Adubiase United in their games. He added that every act of hooliganism that is purported to have occurred on the day was fake and that after the referee claimed to have collapsed, he got up and asked to continue the game but was stopped by the match commissioner” he claimed.
