True to the words of Fredrick Asare Kotoko won the Maiden edition of the democracy cup.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko emerged victorious in the inaugural Democracy Cup, defeating arch-rivals Hearts of Oak 2-1 in a thrilling match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
This victory extends Kotoko’s recent dominance over the Phobians, having secured consecutive wins over them in the recently concluded season.
The match started with high intensity, and it was Kotoko who struck first. Justice Blay opened the scoring from the penalty spot after a controversial decision, giving the Porcupine Warriors the lead as they headed into the halftime break.
