2024 election: Bawumia to address citizens on vision for Ghana Feb. 7

Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to share his vision for the upcoming 2024 general elections in a national address scheduled for February 7 in Accra.
The event, titled ‘Ghana’s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future,’ will take place at the Kofi-Ohene Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) in the Greater Accra Region.
Dr. Bawumia’s address is anticipated to underscore the importance of leveraging technology, data, and systems to foster inclusive economic growth.
His goal is to position Ghana as a digital hub for Africa, bridging the digital divide and applying digital technology and artificial intelligence to revolutionise sectors such as healthcare, education, and public service delivery.
Expressing commitment to elevating Ghana to the next level, Dr. Bawumia envisions a nation that supports local businesses, addresses the needs of the less fortunate, and fuels economic growth through industrial development.
In a statement to party members upon securing the flag bearer position, Dr. Bawumia reflected on his 22 years of dedication to the NPP and Ghana, citing his extensive experience from the Kufuor era as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana to the opposition years and now in government. He emphasized his unwavering loyalty to the party and government, pointing to his track record of performance as vice president.
