WEDNESDAY’S DOWNPOUR COLLAPSES MAJOR BRIDGE AT KASOA, COMMUTERS AND DRIVERS REACT ON LUCKY TV
After a downpour yesterday, a bridge on the Obom Road a suburb of Kasoa could not contain the huge volumes of water thereby leading to its collapse.
Speaking to Lucky TV’s reporter, Leticia Dadzie, commuters and drivers who were struggling to get to their various destinations lamented bitterly saying, the cause of the flood is as a result of where one Pacific Fuel filling station is situated. According to them, “It has been over a decade since we experienced this heart breaking situation in the community. Where the filling station is situated is part of the river bank but authorities neglected us and allowed the project to be built. One added that the bridge used to be double but for reasons not known to them one side was closed. Some also blame the continuous flood on poor sanitation practices by residents.
The collapsed bridge has rendered many residents homeless and motorists stranded,
leading to many school children getting transported home late and leaving parents devastated.
They appealed to authorities to come to their aid, to solve the problem which they see to be a looming danger if not checked as soon as possible.
