C/R: FEMALE TEACHER ESCAPES SNAKE BITE IN HER ROOM AT BREMAN OTABILKWAA
A Female teacher who plies her trade at Breman Otabilkwaa D/A Basic School in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of the Central Region was nearly bitten by a snake in her room at deplorable teacher’s accommodation. Teachers in the school have threatened to stop going to the classroom if nothing is done about the state of their quarters.
According to a report gathered by Lucky TV reporter, Odehyeɛba Gilbert, five snakes and scorpions have invaded her room within one week. The bad state of the teachers’ quarters always invites dangerous animals to their rooms.
Speaking in an interview with some of the residents in the Community, they said, the bad state of the teachers’ quarters has led to many teachers refusing postings there. They say many teachers have also applied for transfer due to the nature of the accommodation and inadequate classroom blocks.
According to them, just recently, “a Snake fell on a female teacher whiles in her room at night and nearly bit her”.
Parents have expressed fear that the school building may collapse and kill their wards and are therefore appealing to the government to assist them with good facilities and a kindergarten Classroom Block.
