Mahama directs GETFund to release funds for completion of Ghana Awards House

GETFund tasked to fast-track completion of long-delayed youth development facility

John Dramani Mahama has instructed the Ghana Education Trust Fund to release funds for the completion of the Ghana Awards House project.

The GH¢5 million, two-storey administrative building intended to serve as the headquarters of the Head of State Award Scheme was started in April 2021 under the previous administration but is yet to be completed.

Speaking at the Head of State Award Ceremony on Wednesday, April 1, the President reaffirmed his commitment to finishing the project, stressing its significance for youth development.

He noted that for decades, the initiative has shaped leaders, innovators, and change-makers in Ghana, becoming a symbol of discipline, hope, and transformation.

President Mahama added that once completed, the facility will stand as a lasting testament to Ghana’s investment in its young people and their future.
