POLICE PERSONNEL, NURSES AND TEACHERS REFUSE POSTING TO ASSIN OCHISO DUE TO POOR TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK
Residents of Assin Ochiso, a community in the Assin South district of the Central Region and its environs, are appealing to government and especially the Inspector General of Police to come to their aid by convincing the appropriate authorities to help fix the poor telecommunication network in the area. This, they believe, would go a long way to make their town attractive to government workers who provide essential services.
According to them, because of the poor telecommunication network connectivity, teachers, nurses and especially police personnel refuse posting to the community.
They added that a Police Station with accommodation is ready but due to the lack of a good telecommunication network, the furnished facility with equipment is being wasted in the bush.
In an interview with some residents, they told Lucky TV Reporter Odehyeɛba Gilbert that, with the lack of security personnel in the area, the rate of stealing and other criminal activities is on the rise.
They are therefore appealing to the IGP to bring police personnel to the community to reduce the rate of crime; and for the government to facilitate the provision good network connectivity as this would encourage government to stay and work in their communities.
