Ghana Scholarships Authority moves to settle outstanding payments as Director-General Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei assures prompt disbursement

The Ghana Scholarships Authority has announced the release of first-quarter funds to clear outstanding scholarship arrears owed to Ghanaian students studying abroad.
In a statement signed by its Director-General, Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei, the Authority said the funds will address delays in the payment of stipends and tuition fees, particularly affecting students in the United Kingdom and other countries.
The intervention forms part of government efforts to gradually clear the backlog of unpaid obligations and stabilise the scholarship scheme.
The Authority acknowledged the difficulties faced by affected students due to prolonged delays and assured that payments will be processed after completing the required administrative procedures.
It further urged beneficiaries to remain calm while efforts are made to resolve all outstanding issues, reaffirming government’s commitment to supporting Ghanaian students abroad.
