I’ll not cover up my appointees who will engage in corruption – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has said that he will not cover up for any of his appointees who will engage in corruption if he is elected president again in the 2024 general elections.
He says he will allow the state investigative bodies to probe any act of corruption involving his appointees.
Speaking to wood sellers in Techiman on Monday, November 20, as part of his “Building the Ghana We Want” tour, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) accused President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of covering up for his appointees accused of engaging in corruption.

“Corruption is getting out of hand under this current administration,” he said.
He added, “The president clears his appointees who are accused of engaging in corruption even before the state institutions will investigate the matter.

“Under my administration, I will not shield any of the appointees who will engage in corruption,” he said.
John Dramani Mahama again added that Ghanaians should expect that taxes on betting are going to be reviewed under his next administration.
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said, “It is not just about taxes on betting; when we come to government, we will look at the number of taxes imposed.”
