Minority caucus meets IMF Officials to discuss Ghana’s economic outlook

The Minority Caucus in parliament held a high-level meeting with IMF officials to discuss recent economic developments in the country.

On Monday, March 16, the Minority issued a statement describing the talks as “constructive and mutually beneficial,” emphasizing a shared goal of promoting good governance and economic management in Ghana.

This meeting, initiated by the Minority Caucus, provided a platform for lawmakers to directly present their insights and concerns to IMF representatives regarding Ghana’s economic stability and growth.

Attending the discussions were key Minority Caucus members, including Minority leader Alexander Afenyo Markin, Second Deputy Minority Whip Jerry Ahmed Shaib, Ranking Member on Finance Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Ranking Member on Economy and Development Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Budget Chairman Kweku Agyeman Kwarteng, Public Accounts Chair Abena Osei-Asare, and Deputy Ranking Member on Energy Collins Adomako-Mensah.

Also present was Dr. Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko, Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, representing the party.

The IMF delegation was led by Resident Representative Adrian Alter and included AFRITAC West 2 Coordinator Razafimahefa Ivohasina Fizara and IMF Country Office Economist Osa Ahinakwah.
