Ghana Football Association Appeals Committee Reveals Verdict on George Afriyie’s Presidential Election Exclusion

The owner of Division One League side Planners Football Club was disqualified from contesting in the GFA elections scheduled for September 27 in Tamale.
Mr. Afriyie was the only candidate contesting incumbent GFA President Kurt Okraku for the enviable position.

The astute football administrator had his candidature declared null and void in a bizarre development after citing him for breaching article 13 (2) (j) of the GFA’s status.

In addition, he was also cited for failing to provide the required number of GFA members to support his candidature.
The former Ghana FA Vice President who felt displeasure over the decision filed an appeal against the decision on September 8, 2023.
After ten days of reviewing the case, the Appeals Committee has announced its decision on the case in the documents below;
