PRIORITISE THE DEVELOPMENTAL NEEDS OF YOUR ELECTORAL AREA-DAN BOTWE

The Minister of Local Government Decentralisation and Rural Development, Dan Botwe, speaking at the inauguration of MMDAs at Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) urged all Assembly members to prioritise the developmental needs of their electoral Area.

According to him, the delay in the release of the Assemblies common fund should not be used as an excuse not to develop the electoral Areas since the Assembly generate more internally generated funds than what they receive as common fund.
His call comes after the inaugurated assembly members urged the governments to ensure timely release of the Assembly common fund.

Adding that, the delay in the release of the fund impedes local community development.
Hon Dan Botwe called on members to do regular consultations with the Chiefs and the electorate to ensure effective local governance.
