NPP Dismisses Reports of Move to Remove Afenyo-Markin
Party insists Minority Leader retains position amid speculation

The Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jennifer Queen, has dismissed reports suggesting plans to remove Alexander Afenyo-Markin as Minority Leader in Parliament.
Speaking on UTV, she described the claims as false, stating that no such decision has been taken by the party.
“It is not true; there are no plans to remove Afenyo-Markin. He is still the Minority Leader,” she said.
Jennifer Queen also rejected suggestions that the alleged move was linked to Afenyo-Markin’s perceived association with Kennedy Agyapong during the party’s primaries, describing such claims as inaccurate.
She emphasised that the party leadership has not initiated any process to remove him and that he continues to serve in his role.
According to her, the Minority Leader attended two party meetings last week in his official capacity, which she said demonstrates that he still enjoys the confidence of the leadership.
The NPP maintains that there has been no change in its parliamentary leadership.
