MobileMoney Fintech Tightens Compliance, Sanctions MoMo Agents
MobileMoney Fintech LTD enforces stricter rules with warnings, suspensions and terminations to protect customers and boost trust

MobileMoney Fintech LTD has intensified regulatory compliance measures across its mobile money agent network, placing several agent accounts under restrictions over various infractions.
The action, part of routine monitoring of the MoMo platform, has resulted in warnings, suspensions and permanent terminations depending on the severity of the breaches identified.
The company explained that minor offences are being cautioned, while moderate and serious violations attract stricter sanctions, including suspension or removal from the platform.
According to a statement, some affected agents have already been engaged, with certain restrictions lifted as investigations continue. The company stressed that the exercise is not punitive but aimed at ensuring adherence to operational guidelines and regulatory standards.
The move highlights growing regulatory scrutiny within Ghana’s fintech sector and the need to safeguard trust in digital financial services.
MobileMoney Fintech added that it will continue working with agents and stakeholders to strengthen the mobile money ecosystem, urging strict compliance to maintain reliability and customer confidence.
